2024 Stewardship & Fellowship Board Report
Board Members: Wanda Koski, Debbie Maki, Mary Castle, Kate Undeland, Mary Mulari
During 2024, our board members did “Acts of Kindness” with home visits, Eucharist Ministry, and special holiday cards sent to homebound members. Mary Castle also sent cards for birthdays, get well, and sympathy to church members.
This year we chose to recognize the Aurora Fire Department in appreciation of their services provided to our communities. We prepared and delivered treats to the Fire Hall on March 26 for a firemen’s training meeting. We served an Easter cake at church on March 31st and money collected was designated for Food Shelf Month.
In April Kathy Baxter took care of the road clean-up on the road to Giants Ridge. We appreciate her hard work and service on behalf of Our Savior’s.
Board members assisted with the church summer picnic on August 4th.
In October we began designating coffee an’ monies for the Aurora Area Food Shelf for the upcoming holiday season.
A special “Giving Thanks” cake with ice cream was served to recognize Stewardship & Fellowship month in November. In anticipation of the December to January 2025 drive to collect children’s
clothing items for Mesabi East elementary students, two bins were placed in the church narthex and congregation members were encouraged to contribute to this effort.
The final activity in December was helping to plan and serve the Breakfast Pot Luck Brunch on the 15th.
The Board welcomes suggestions from any congregation members for activities and other Acts of Kindness to extend to our communities, homebound and other members.
March 2024
In continuing the “Acts of Kindness” to congregation members, Get Well cards and Valentine’ Day greeting cards have been sent to those members at home or a care facility and not able to attend church every Sunday.
The hats, mittens and gloves collected for Mesabi East elementary students were delivered to the school. The Board thanks congregation members for joining us in this collection to keep little heads and hands warm.
Instead of the Soup Can Collection for Food Shelf this year, we are collecting personal hygiene products. There will be a table set up in the Fellowship Hall for these items. Products such as soap, toothbrushes, mouth wash, lotions, combs, shampoos, etc., are all needed.
Since many families have gathering after Easter Worship, Coffee an’ will be prior to church on March 31 beginning at 9:45 A.M. Join in for conversation, fellowship and the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
January 2024
Continuing the Acts of Kindness for congregation members, cards have been sent for birthdays, get well, sympathy, and thinking of you. Congregation members are welcome to share the names and addresses of community members and others who would appreciate a card and note from our church. Contact Mary Castle (218.229.3852) with the information.
The July 30th Potluck Picnic following the church service was organized by Stewardship/Fellowship. There was a good turnout. Another picnic was planned and organized for the end of Vacation Bible School with participating children and their families.
September is Service month. Cookies and ice cream will be served after church to welcome back the Sunday School students on September 24. Coffee an' monies collected during the months of September through December will be designated for a holiday donation to the Food Shelf

On Sunday, March 5, soup cans labeled for “Lenten Journey to the Cross” can be picked up at church. These cans are used for collecting coins to donate on Palm Sunday, April 2, to the Aurora Food Shelf. Don’t forget to save your pocket and purse change (paper money is welcome too!) for this charitable organization and their important work in our communities.
Board members discussed, and suggested to the Council, adding coat hooks for Sunday school children to hang their coats at a “child" level in the narthex. This suggestion was considered and accepted. Encourage your children and grandchildren to find and use the hooks for their coats.
Please take time to examine ways we all can be aware of being good stewards in our lives, community and our church, and using our time, our talents and our money.
“You are our church, and your time, talents and generosity are valuable”.
November and December will be a time when our church will focus on being good stewards.

The S&F Board served cake and ice cream after the Giving Thanks service on November 20. The Board members will also help with the potluck breakfast on December 11 after the Sunday school Christmas program.
As an on-going project, birthday and sympathy cards are sent out to members and their families. If church members have suggestions or names of others who would appreciate receiving cards, please contact Mary Castle at 218.229.3852.
To inform and remind church members of good stewardship and fellowship practices, the Board will share ideas and suggestions in the Eye Opener.
On December 4, we will begin the second year of "Grab-N-Go” to collect winter hats, mittens, and gloves for Mesabi East elementary students. Please bring donated items to the labeled bin at church. Let’s help to keep the heads and hands of young students warm for the winter season.
