Sunday School
“Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us.” Sunday School News - Psalm 100:4 – “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” Sunday School Suspended until further notice Our Sunday school is growing in numbers by the week. Thank you for passing on the word! We continue to talk about our theme: “God’s gifts all around us”. We are all gifts from God and what a blessing to pass that word onto our youth. We will continue to accept new youth. We continue talking about how everything is created by God. Humans, animals, plants, etc and not two of them are alike. When we can see these as gifts from God, we can honor and love our differences and similarities. In the past two months we focused on apples and pumpkins. In November we will focus on leaves and being thankful for things always changing in our lives. We are going to create a prayer board and have the kids write prayers on the leaves. The goal is to demonstrate just like leaves come and go and seasons change, our lives are always changing too. When our life is going through change, we can use the power of prayer to get through it. Please feel free to add prayers to our board! The last Sunday of each month, our youth will continue to make and serve Coffee An treats. We will be saving the donation money to either give gifts to a family off the Angel Tree or donate to one of the missions we support. The Christmas program will be cancelled during regular worship with a brunch to follow. We ask for families to commit to this that regularly attend. In Christ; God’s Gifts, Our Hands Jenna and Jill Dickinson. Sunday School The board of education is looking forward to welcoming Sunday school students back when all is safe. The Sunday school children start off in the sanctuary with their family Your children will be dismissed to Sunday school just after the children’s sermon. All the children will gather in the Fireside Room for story time, sharing and prayer and then on to a time of fun filled learning of activities, games, art projects and crafts that support the Sunday school curriculum. The Sunday school leaders and children will participate in communion. Parents please indicate on the registration form if your child will be taking a blessing or receive the sacraments. Sunday school dismisses at 10:10. The children are sent to coffee an’ in the fellowship hall to socialize with the congregation and share their Sunday school activities. VOLUNTEERING FOR CLASS: We strongly encourage adult involvement in Sunday school. This is a great way to experience first-hand and participate in building a child’s relationship with God. Parents your helping hands are always welcomed and appreciated. It is very important to remember that parents are the most important people in a child’s life, and learning about building a relationship with God starts in the home. Please check in with our SS leader Cassie Long and the members of the Board of Education often to determine how you can help the Sunday school and the spiritual growth of your child. Also please let us know how your child is responding to Sunday school.
